A programme which focuses on testing new and effective ways of engaging audiences for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) art.

ANE was awarded funding by the Arts Council to deliver the programme in the North East. The programme involves two main areas of activity.

Firstly, working with four organisations to test new ways of working and achieving sustainable changes in their programme. The organisations we're working with are Dance City, the National Glass Centre, Tyneside Cinema and Darlington Arts Centre.

Secondly, co-ordinating the Navigating Difference symposium – a day-long event to inspire and challenge attendees on issues of cultural diversity and audience development, which took place in November 2007.
