The establishment of whatsonnortheast.com was a result of the public consultation commissioned by Audiences North East in 2005, which identified the need for a portal cultural website where the public could access information about cultural events, find out about venues and participate in arts activity.
Promotion via the website and monthly e-bulletin is free to ANE subscribers, though you don’t have to be a member (or even a cultural organisation) to banner advertise on the site. You can download the advertising rate card here, or email Caroline Greener for availability.
Promotion on the website is currently exclusive to ANE subscribers, and with web visitor figures and webclub membership growing monthly, this online marketing service alone provides a valuable return on the investment you make in ANE joining the ANE network.
Current features of the website include:
- Detailed venue pages
- 12 segmented artform listings categories
- What’s on diary
- Blogs by members of the public
- Competitions
- Webclub e-bulletin sign-up
- Links to online booking (where available)
- Editorial features/recommendations
- Ticker tape for latest news and jobs
- RSS feed for artform categories
